CORONAVIRUS – Our Appointment system

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic we have changed the way we run our appointment system.

We ask that in the first instance patients complete an e-consult.  You can find the link for e-consults on the front page of this website or click on the ‘Get Started Now‘ button below.  You can complete an e-consult for admin requests eg sick note or prescription, for advice on self-care or for help from a doctor.   Once completed a member of our admin or clinical team will review the e-consult and respond to you within 48 hours of receipt.  The response you will receive to your e-consult will be one of the following;  Completion of you request and email back to inform you of actions taken.  If appropriate a doctor or nurse will phone you for more information and complete your consultation over the telephone.  The doctor may text you to request a photograph of your issue or ask you to undergo a video consultation with them.  The doctor may ask you to come in to surgery for an examination.  If you come in to surgery for any reason, particularly to see a doctor or nurse, you must wear a face covering or mask.  Information on how to make a face covering can be found at

Although we are working in a different way, we are fully available for patients so please do contact us if you need help.

When you contact the reception team to book an appointment they will ask you for a brief reason for your GP request.  Please do not be offended by this.  This question is asked so that we can direct you to the most appropriate person to help you.  Our reception team are trained to keep patient details confidential and have all signed our confidentiality policy.

Medically Urgent Appointments – If, in the unlikely event of our not having any standard appointments available on the day and you need a medically urgent appointment, you will usually be seen at the end of that particular session.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. All practice nurse appointments can be booked in advance.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you have given the practice your mobile telephone number you should receive an appointment reminder via text message the day before your appointment.  If you cannot attend your appointment you can respond to the text stating the word cancel and your appointment will be cancelled.

Outside of Practice Hours

If you feel you require an appointment or information outside of Practice hours then please see the link to ‘When We Are Closed’ section of this page which gives a list of services available.

Chaperoned appointments

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they consider one is required. The Practice maintains a policy with regards to patient chaperoning which can be viewed by clicking on the Chaperone Policy tab at the top of this section.
